So, like I’m obsessed with HAIR STEAMING! I’ve noticed other naturals steaming their hair a while back and wanted to try. And I love it! It has become a staple in my hair regimen for all year around! My favorite is the Q-Redew, because it’s handheld and has so many other benefits to it!
Here’s why steaming is the best:
I hate hateeee to detangle. Like it’s not fun, but it has become lot easier with a steamer! The steam will make the hair stretch which will allow for more hydrated strands.
I love to deep condition! It’s no surprise, and I hope you’re deep conditioning at least once per week too. When steam is added to a treatment it lifts the hair cuticle causing it penetrate the hair shaft quicker. Many times breakage is caused by over manipulation or dry (brittle) hair. If your hair is damaged then you should invest in a steamer!
Don’t feel like completing your regimen? Hair steamers are perfect for this especially if you don’t feel like re-wetting that wash n go. Just grab (or sit) under a steamer, which will help your hair become more manageable without actually washing it.
Low, high, normal porosity? What the heck, right? Well, that’s how I was but it’s simple.
Low porosity hair- Hard to moisturize, water absorbs too quickly, but dries really quick making the hair dry (dull) all over again (most coarse textures).
High porosity hair- Easy to moisturize because the water just sits on your hair, too much moisture.
Normal porosity hair- neither of the two meaning your hair is very well moisturized.
So, how does the steamer help? It will work great for all porosity types but, specifically for the low porosity hair types because these can’t maintain moisture. Steamers will help penetrate moisture into coarse textures.
In order for hair to grow, the blood in your scalp bus the stimulated, which is where hair steamers come in. Steamers help maintain blood stimulation throughout the scalp, which will lead to hair growth. How awesome is that!
Let me know in the comments if you have tried a hair steamer before!
