Glamping: Adventures of year 30 (Sinya)

Post sponorsed by Sinya on Lone Man Creek. All thoughts are my own.

What is Glamping?

Glamping is where stunning nature meets modern luxury. It’s a way to experience the untamed and completely unique parts of the world—without having to sacrifice creature comforts.

So first, off I apologize because I’ve been MIA with my posts for a while now but sometimes taking breaks are necessary. But I’m so excited to share with you this post because I’ve been waiting since January to share that I was going Glamping. A few months later I posted a poll on my IG stories asking what did you guys want to see more of on my blog (Adventure or natural hair). About 95% picked ADVENTURE, so adventure it was!

History of Sinya

Sinya just celebrated its 10 year anniversary, which was by Lynn, who is the owner of a secluded retreat. It came about after she took a life-changing trip to Africa meeting a rescue elephant named Sinya. Lynn came back from her trip and the rest is history. Since I was a little girl I’ve always enjoyed the outdoors! There’s something about being in nature that gives me peace. I reached out to Lynn (she’s great) and let her know that I was on a journey, myself. In January, I turned 30, and I want to take as many adventures that I can. She loved my idea! So, Glamping in Texas was marked on the calendar.

AHH..No tv, we’re really in the woods

Sinya requires a minimum 2-night stay, so we stayed Friday and Saturday night. We got there and it was just as beautiful as the pictures on the website (most hotels or other accommodations are never like the pictures). I was pleased to see that! Normally, people book Sinya for a life changing experience, whether it be an anniversary or honeymoon. Well, we did neither. lol Even though some people may have assumed. Anyways, Friday night was kind of like a shock factor. We were literally in the woods nothing around us for miles (Lynn lives on the property but not too close). So, most people go camping or “glamping” to get away from the noise of tvs, people, city life, or whatever, right? Well, I don’t think us millennials were ready. lol

One of the loud bugs

It was SOOO quiet! Well, besides the noise of who knows what bugs outside (I’m not scared of bugs, they were just LOUD lol). I know what you’re thinking, “Kineatra, it’s camping, what did you expect!?” Honestly, too much silence makes me nervous. lol But we made it work, Thank GOD for wifi! We watched funny videos, talked, and just got to know each other a little better. We made it through the first night but let me talk about the bed!

King Bed, yes please!

Sinya comes with a King size bed and the mattress is MUCH softer than mine so I’m rethinking my whole life. First I need a king size bed then I’ll need to ask Lynn why it was so soft. Also, the luxury aspect gets real with goose down pillows for you soft pillow people. I’m not big on soft pillows but I still like the idea of them. There’s also a sofa bed as well (see above). Oh, and the tent is air-conditioned! It is luxury camping people!

Kitchenette

There’s a kitchenette with nuwave cooktop, countertop conventional oven, microwave, purified drinking water, and fridge. There’s more I’m just naming huge appliances that you wouldn’t find on a normal camping trip. There was also fixins to make s’mores using the fire pit, which I’ll get to a little later.

Bathroom

Clawfoot tub
Bath salts and light up wax candles (these candles were so unique)

I’m all for beautiful bathrooms and listen when I think of camping I think of digging a hole in the ground and using the bathroom. lol Honestly, that’s kind of what I thought it would be at Sinya too because when I first saw the pictures I didn’t see a toilet in the bathroom. Safe to say, there was a toilet! Among a clawfoot bathtub/shower, bath salts, yoga mats, bath robes, makeup remover, hair dryer, and Bee Kind (all natural) hair products. Oh, yeah! The bathroom led outside to the outdoor shower!!

Sage, bathrobes, Beekind lotion, and makeup wipes

Outdoor shower/ Back Deck

Outdoor Shower and fresh herbs not too far

I don’t think I’ve ever stayed anywhere with an outdoor shower. This shower included stations for shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. It was so super nice! On the same deck was a Jacuzzi, which Lynn calls, the “Hippy hot tub.” I got in the hippy hot tub for a second! lol Currently, it’s really hot in Texas but I still got in! Next to the hot tub was a garden of herbs including thyme, Savory, or oregano. Near this deck is another deck, which has a bbq pit and fire pit. So, you love to cook/bbq, Sinya is a great place to relax, grill with fresh herbs by the fire pit with a glass of wine! (Also: Lynn just added a “she-shed” where theres an ice machine).

Kayaking/Me=Nature

The walk down to the Kayaks

On the lowest deck of Sinya are two kayaks with life jackets. I’ve always liked kayaking, and have been plenty of times but I didn’t go at Sinya. Jay on the other hand, did, and he really enjoyed himself. There were two sides to Lone Man Creek and he went on the shortest side (twice). The other side he would have had to climb other the dam. I’m regretting that I didn’t go because he got to see deer and see more of the land surrounding Sinya. But I was able to take pictures of him preparing to kayak (pictures speak). While he kayaked, I went on a hike to explore more of Sinya. There were SO many hummingbirds! I’ve never seen so many before. I explored the dam and the fish inside the water. It was so beautiful! My words won’t do justice with how pure the grounds of Sinya are until you experience it for yourself.

Saw so many hummingbirds

Eating

Ya’ll are probably wondering what we ate, huh? lol Since we didn’t use the bbq pit or the fire pit. Well the day before we went to Max’s Wine Dive, which is located in Austin (Go look at ATX trip on IG) and they gave us a lot of food. So, we ate that also, Sinya is VERY secluded if you haven’t already gotten that, so we had to drive about 10-15 miles out to go eat. We chose a place called Hay’s City store and Icehouse mainly because we saw it on the drive up and didn’t see anything else for miles (stick with what you see lol). The food there was pretty good but the live entertainment and just sitting outside seeing everyone have a good time was awesome!

Fun trip/Extras

Beautiful Scenery of Sinya landscaping

So, we woke up the next morning and I honestly didn’t want to leave. Jay actually had to come get me and ask if I was ready to go because he was waiting in the car. lol Sinya has a lot to offer that we didn’t participate in because we weren’t all the way prepared. I wish we would have gotten a fishing pole or used the firepit (if it was winter)! There’s also a hammock, which was nice just to lay in or nap. Sinya offers board games as well and I suggest bringing UNO. This experience was great and I believe once you leave Sinya you won’t be the same. I can’t explain the experience, you’ll just have to trust me on this! Would I do it again? Hell yes! The only thing I would really change is bringing my laptop (this atmosphere would be perfect for movies). Otherwise, please say YES to different experiences (something that scares you) because it’s never too late to live, also it’s never too late to reconnect with old friends.
