Hot Oil Treatments (Any oil in your Kitchen Treatment)

Hot Oil Treatments

I love Hot Oil Treatments!

Stop what you’re doing and go check what oils you have in your kitchen. I say almost, any oil because not all oils you cook with are good for your hair.  These 3 oils make for a great hot oil treatment all year around. Here are some great oils that will leave your hair feeling amazing:

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

EVOO is one of the most commonly used oils due to its great scalp & hair benefits. This oil has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial pros to it. It naturally promotes scalp health and works to correct issues should as dandruff and dry scalp. It also is used to promote hair growth if experiencing  issues such as thinning, brittle, thin, or split ends. This oil is most beneficial in the winter season due to dry and crisp weather, but should be used year around. It should be applied to your scalp all the way down to your ends. If you’re looking for oil that has many benefits than Extra Virgin Olive oil is for you.

Unrefined Coconut Oil

Unrefined Coconut Oil is one of the most widely used oils around due to its tremendous advantages. This is my favorite oil to use not only because it protects the protein within your hair, which our hair is made of, but it also penetrates the hair shaft quickly, which makes sealing moisture easy. It also protects your hair strands and roots, and prevents halts breakage. Many naturals use coconut oil in their pre-poo routine right before shampooing and conditioning to add extra moisture. I use it for my cowash routine.  It is rich in great vitamins such as iron, and vitamins E & K, which promote healthier stronger hair.

Canola Oil

Canola oil is another anti-dandruff and dry scalp oil. It prevents hair from becoming dry and hard making your strands soft and manageable. It also promotes in healthy hair growth and can be used before your hair care regimen for a pre-poo. If you or someone you know has dry hair and are looking for a scalp treatment, canola oil is the oil to use.
